Port Stanley
Why hit the beach in Port Stanley?
Port Stanley's Main Beach is a long beach with one of the finest stretches of sandy beach on Lake Erie's north shore. Just how great is it? Port Stanley's Main Beach is one of only 27 in Canada to have earned official Blue Flag status for it's commitment to strict water quality and safety criteria. Port Stanley also features mats to make the beach more accessible to people using wheelchairs or strollers.
Looking for something a little smaller? Head down the road to Port Stanley's Little Beach, where you'll find 185 metres of secluded sandy beach and shallow water that's well protected by a berm.
Port Stanley Beach will open June 22nd.
Groups will be capped at 10. Bylaw officers, OPP and lifeguards will help to enforce physical distancing.
A Facebook page has been set up to advise beachgoers of potential overcrowding. The Central Elgin Beach Rescue page https://www.facebook.com/CE.BeachRescue/ will provide real-time updates on how many people are at each beach, and residents are encouraged to check the site before planning a visit.
