Chatham-Kent is known for its agriculture, growing 20% of all vegetables in all of Ontario, so as you drive to Erieau, make a stop at any of the farm stands and markets, like Greatview Orchards and Pardo’s Berrie Farm, along the way for fresh produce and fruits.
As you arrive in Erieau and see the waters of Lake Erie around you, you’ll understand why it’s a favourite destination for beach lovers, boaters, and fishermen. The waters are some of the warmest on Lake Erie giving everyone a long beach season. There are also accessibility mats so everyone can access and enjoy this nice beach. For boaters and fishermen, Erieau Marina provides all the services you could need and is home to many fishing charters to enjoy some of the best fishing available in the region.
Be sure to bring your bicycle and walking shoes because there are trails to explore nearby too!
For staying overnight, you have a couple of options available. Erie-O Motel & Marina features recently renovated motel suites and even waterfront rental suites for longer stays in the summer. Another waterfront option is Molly & Oj’s lakeside cabin rentals. Each cabin is steps to a private beach area and bonfire area.
Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about the food. Not only is Bayside Brewing Co. a craft brewery, it’s a great restaurant too! Combine their woodfired pizzas and craft beer with amazing lake views from their patio. Or pop into Molly & Oj’s Restaurant to take in their maritime décor and fresh from the Lake Erie perch and pickerel!
Follow Arienne's lead and plan your own getaway to charming Erieau too!
