This four-day journey, which begins and ends in St. Thomas, takes you along quiet rural roads and a waterfront trail, down Lake Erie’s northern shoreline and through communities with rich maritime heritage and vast agricultural lands. This route is suitable for cyclists with experience and comfort riding on roads, although you can expect low traffic at low speeds. Bike lanes and paved shoulders are found on some roads. There is one road connector that is not paved, however, it has been deemed as the safest route. Cyclists should bring extra water and snacks for longer legs through rural villages.
