Called by some the "father" of North American conservationism, Jack Miner was one of the first conservationists to determine the migratory paths of birds and founded the Jack Miner Bird Sanctuary, one of the first of its kind in North America, in 1904. The sanctuary continues strong to this day and offers visitors a unique, educational experience through the exploration of the outdoors while learning about the local wildlife and history of Essex County in a casual and enjoyable atmosphere.
