Please note, this is a self-catering cottage.  It should be neat and tidy when you arrive and should be left the same or better upon leaving.

This is our family cottage so we hope and expect to have responsible people to help keep the cottage in good condition so we can continue to offer it for rent when we are unable to enjoy it.

We offer a completely pet free environment for all visitors to Pelee and our cottage.  This will ensure that everyone will be comfortable and not have to worry about pet dander or any allergy issues during their stay.

Security deposit of $200.00 is due upon booking, please note, the FULL amount is then due 30 days before arrival.  For example, a one week stay will cost $1,000 + $200 security, then when you leave the cottage, as long as you left it the way it was when you arrived, the $200 will be refunded to you.

This is a self-catering rental. It is the responsibility of the renter to thoroughly clean the house before check-out in order to assure that their entire deposit is returned.  Please try to keep the cottage in the same condition as it was when you arrived.

At the end of your stay, please take your garbage to the local waste site, directions to the site are at the cottage.

Please note, we cannot be held responsible for ferry cancellations and delays due to weather problems where the ferry is unable to run.  Please have arrangements available or contact the ferry company if such a problem arises.

A contract will be available for signing upon request of booking, reservation requests will start to be taken the December before the upcoming season, thanks.

Please note, we have changed the cottage to an entirely pet free environment.  We have done this to avoid any issues with renters having certain allergies to certain pets so to avoid the whole issue for all people we have a pet free environment.  Sorry for any inconveniences this may cause but it works best for everyone. Note, no rental is guaranteed until a rental booking form has been signed and submitted. Repeat renters get first dibs on the week that they did or normally do rent each year, please inquire.

Deadline to reserve space for repeat renters is DEC 31, 2019, book now to ensure your preferred week!
PLEASE NOTE:

These are some things that you WILL see during your vacation on Pelee Island.  You will be seeing a lot of creepy crawlies such as spiders, daddy long legs, crickets, frogs, toads, etc.  One thing Pelee is known for is nature so expect to see a lot of nature. Snakes WILL be seen frequently no matter where you are on the island.  You could be walking along and one crosses your path, taking a swim and one crosses your path, etc.

This is just a heads up that if you are squeamish to bugs and snakes and nature then Pelee may not be for you. There are no poisonous snakes on Pelee Island but please try to avoid running over them or killing them. Some are endangered and ONLY found on Pelee Island.

Please note, my rental season runs from the first weekend of each June until the last weekend of September each year.  I do not rent outside of this time frame as the cottage is strictly a summer rental and not winterized for use in the cold months.

The beach does come and go depending on lake levels.  For 2019 the chance of having a beach at the cottage have dropped to 0%.  Lake Erie is at an all time high and we do not expect beaches around the island for 2019.  There may be a couple public beaches that are still accessible but not many.
Sorry, I do not rent for the hunts, this cottage is strictly for the summer months
Please note, the algae bloom does occur each year. Some years worse than others but expect starting the last half of summer that the possibility does exist of unsafe beach conditions due to algae blooms.  If it does blow in to Pelee do not swim if the water contains a bloom.  Please check online or on Pelee.org for beach conditions.  The BEST times for beach conditions at the cottage are all of July and early August.
I do not rent for pheasant hunts sorry
ALL OF JULY AND EARLY AUGUST ARE THE OPTIMUM TIMES FOR THE BEACH AT THE COTTAGE
NO LONGER TAKING RESERVATIONS FOR THE 2021 SEASON DUE TO COVID-19

NOT OPEN TO  RENT FOR 2021 DUE TO HIGH WATER ON LAKE ERIE & COVID-19
